The Central Trailer Trash Tuesday Punks n Pints
The Central is Seattle's oldest saloon. Located on Pioneer Square it has a great
atmosphere for a rock show. We were the first band up and the sound was amazing.
It was nice to get a full and unhurried sound check, it seems like we are usually
playing late and trying to get started before everyone gets tired and tries to
catch a cab home. I had a scare when I realized during our set up that my pedal had
broken at some point in the past 24 hours. Luckily I was able to borrow a really nice
pedal from the drummer of Lethal Rejection. When we started playing there was fairly
small crowd, but by the time we finished, quite a few people had come in. Thanks to
all the people that came up to the front of the stage and had such a good time for the
second half of our set. It seemed like everyone we talked to was exceptionally friendly
, especially the guys in the other bands. Charlie even randomly ran into a friend from
high school! Chad from Sterling Entertainment was very professional and runs a good
show. I was interested to learn that years ago he played in a ska band that friend of
mine had been in and that I had gone to see a few times, The Diablatones. Late in the
night we did a field trip to one of the top floors of the Band of America building,
Seattle's tallest. The night before we had crashed at one of Charlie's old friends
apartment and after a few drinks and between bands he gave us a tipsy, tiptoeing tour
of the law office that he works at. I'm not sure what the security guards were
thinking when we sauntered in after midnight but I guess that if you have the right pass
for the elevator it doesn't matter what you look like. When we ran into someone in the
office we were introduced as a country band from Oregon. Ha Ha. I've yet to see a
country band with band patched clothes, but oh well. Other then van troubles at 4 in
the morning in Portland on the way home, we had a great time on our Washington trip
and are looking forward to our next trip up.
