This show was for a Pirate Family Reunion at a farm on the banks of the Willamete River. Sonny of the Hedders was in charge of music and did a great job. A large crowd of rowdy pirate costumed punks, rednecks and hippies converged for a weekend of extreme intoxication. There was a large outdoor stage, bonfire, camping, 10 kegs, a dozen bands lined up for the weekend, and an excess of all things piratey. The Adequits kicked off the music with a great sounding set highlighted by group singalong version of ACDC's ShookMeAlllNightLong. Sumbitch followed up with their raunchy rockin countrypunk. Blood on the Banjo played a short and entertaining set of campy folk/punk/comedy songs before we stumbled to the stage in a somewhat seasick stagger.
We were the headliner for the night, and it was nice to be the last band and not have AJ fall off of the stage for once (a good thing since this was on of the biggest stages we've played on). It was a blast, and somewhat surreal to look out and see a large crowd of pirates dancing around a bonfire to our set. We played some old pirate songs that we havent used in about a year such as Mutiney and Sailor's Prayer (With a suprise appearance by Toby on VOX). This was a great show. As I walked off the stage wondering where all the rum in my bottle had gone I knew that the fun had just begun.
